Back in July we had the great honour and privilege of performing with Socalled as part of the Ashkenaz Festival's "Nu? Normal! The Barn Sessions" at Bela Farm. This was a project nearly two years in the making - a full set of yiddish music arranged for big band - and we're so thankful to Eric Stein for bringing it all together. For this special performance we teamed up with Montreal’s one-and-only klezmer/hip hop rebel, Josh Dolgin (aka. Socalled) to present the North American premiere of a new program of Yiddish songs, both beloved and obscure, arranged for big band. Whether you are an expert or neophyte in Yiddish music, this program will delight and surprise you at every turn.
